The challenge
A legacy payments core was buckling under growth — latency spiked under load, deploys were risky, and PCI scope had crept across the whole codebase. Scaling the business meant scaling a system nobody trusted to touch.
- stage_02 · build
The approach
We rebuilt the core as event-driven services with a tightly scoped, tokenized PCI boundary, moving the hot path to a compiled runtime. Full observability, load-tested from day one, and an incremental cutover so nothing shipped as a big-bang rewrite.

The outcome
9ms p99 latency at peak, horizontal scale headroom, and a dramatically smaller PCI surface that sailed through audit. Deploys went from feared to routine.

“Senior, fast, and genuinely creative. They treated our roadmap like their own equity was on the line.”
